By: ChristosMoving  |  January 6, 2015

school recordsMany people forget just how stressful moving can be until they start to experience for themselves. There are so many different things that have to be done when moving, which makes it very easy to become overwhelmed. Moving will take on a whole new level of stress if you try to do it during the school years. Not only will the move be hard on your children, but it will be hard on you if you do not follow the proper procedures to get their school records. Here are a few tips on getting the records that you need to make the move much easier on you and your kids.

It Starts at the School

The first stop that you will need to make when trying to get the records for the new school is to start at the old school. In most cases, speaking with the administration at the school will get you the information that you need to get the transferring process started. You may have to do some research in order to find the right person to talk to at the school but it will be well worth it in the end.

Provide Other Documentation

Once you have gotten the transfer process going, you will have to play the waiting game. While you are waiting, you may want to start gathering up things such as a list of textbooks that your child is currently using and the types of courses they have been taking. The more information you are able to give the new school during the waiting period, the better off your child will ultimately be.

The best thing for you to do in this type of situation is to research and plot out the best possible course to getting what you want.
